Sunfish can be caught with just about anything from the dock - a great way to introduce kids to fishing! Welcome to our four bedroom home on Lake Nancy in Minong, Wisconsin. Lake Nancy is a gorgeous 772 acre lake well known for its clean, clear water and great fishing. The home is elevated about 25' above a fantastic 100' sand beach. Our 400 foot private wooded drive winds through oak, birch, and pine trees and ends just a short distance from the back door of our 2,250 square foot 4 season 'home away from home'. The lake offers outstanding swimming! The slope on both the beach and out into the water is VERY gradual with no drop off. This makes it great for kids, water games, and lounging around on a hot summer day. Enjoy your morning coffee out on the bench at the end of the 60' long dock. We also have an 18' Bayliner 180 open bow boat with a 90HP outboard motor available for rent (boat is extra and not included in weekly rental). This boat is great for water skiing and tubing, and is parked on its lift next to the dock, so all you have to do is lower it into the water, start it up, and take off! The beach has a fire pit, which is great for brats, smore's, staring into after dark... whatever you like. The night sky is so dark you can see the Milky Way - it's a good thing we put in motion sensing lights to help you find your way back inside! Lake Nancy is a clean, clear lake offering large mouth bass, walleye, northern, muskie, crappie and pan fish. Two kayaks and a rowboat are provided for fishing or exploring, and the lake has a public ramp for launching your trailered boat. 100' SW of the end of the dock is a crappie hot-spot - be sure to check it out. It has views of the side of the cabin and a walking trail to the back. Camera #3 is in the back of the cabin above the walkout door. It has views of the back entrances and windows. It is considered a sportsman's and recreational lake with good quality lake water. Swimming is great at Sand Island, the park public beach, or just off the dock. If you catch a nice fish and want it mounted, we have a taxidermist that we recommend in our welcome guide book so you can catch and release yet cherish the memories by having it mounted. He does replica mounts so all you have to do is take the picture and measure fish length and width. We have a pier for your convenience for access to the water for boating, swimming, & fishing. The pier is extended with a bench for easy access to our pontoon boat all ready to cruise, our pier accommodates the fisherman too. Walk out onto the amazing deck that wraps around the house, giving a spectacular view of the lake and it's breathtaking scenery. Whether you are bird watching, taking in the scenery, or just want to sit and relax, this is your destination, you won't be disappointed. Three outdoor areas including a spacious deck, lower level patio, and large fire pit with gorgeous pavers. 263 feet of lakefront footage on a private, quiet, secluded bay. The home has 3 bedrooms. The main floor master bedroom has a king bed, and the lower-level walkout provides 2 additional bedrooms: one with a queen bed and one with 2 single beds. There are two bathrooms; one on the main level and one on the lower level. Please note that the main level bathroom has a soaking tub only; there is NOT a shower. The lower level has a walk-in shower. Both bathrooms are stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and towels. You will be surrounded by towering pines for that "Up North" feel, enjoying the waterside view from the deck, lower patio, or fire pit. The home is steps from the water, where you can access the lake, water sports, fishing or just relax. We have 2 kayaks and a paddleboat for your use (including life jackets). There is a hammock in the backyard, Adirondack chairs, a fire pit with several chairs, and yard games. Access miles of ATV trails nearby, hiking, golf courses, and multiple restaurant/bars. Enjoy canoeing, kayaking, or tubing on the Totagatic and Namekagon rivers. Winter activities include ice fishing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling on miles of groomed trails. Please note: The elevation to the lake is a gentle slope. While not super steep, it may not be easily accessible to those with mobility issues, so we want to make people aware. Please feel free to ask if you have questions. About the Minong Flowage: The water in the Minong Flowage is from the Totagatic River and is clean, but the minerals from the River tint the water slightly brown. At its deepest point, the lake is 21 feet. It is a popular fishing lake, and common fish include walleye, northern pike, largemouth bass, bluegill, black crappie, and yellow perch. We are on a bay, and the area off the dock is shallow but swimmable for several feet (the bottom turns from sand to mud, so bring water shoes if you want to swim out farther!). The best months to swim are June and July (but there is still no guarantee of "green-free" water); in August, the bay gets green. so if you are hoping to spend a lot of time swimming off the dock, our home may not be the best fit for you. However, there is a nice public beach 4 miles away at Totogatic Park. A Note About Dogs: We named our cabin the Lazy Dog Lodge for a reason: we LOVE dogs and we want our guests to enjoy their vacation with the whole family, including the furry members :-) That being said, please be mindful of whether our home is appropriate for your dog(s). We may not be the vacation rental for you if your dog(s): *Consider barking to be a favorite pasttime; *Chew things other than bones; *Like to visit the neighbors unsupervised (we do not have a fenced-in yard), and/or; *Use the house as a bathroom. We provide dog beds, bowls, treats, tie-outs, poop bags, a gate, and crates (one large, up to 65lbs, and one small, up to 25lbs). We ask that your dogs be supervised when at the cabin and crated when you are not. Also, it should not need to be said (but unfortunately needs to be, as we have had guests leave enough surprises for us), but PLEASE pick up after your dogs!! It is NOT the responsibility of our cleaners. A Note About Occupancy: The maximum occupancy at the cabin is 6 people. There are NO exceptions to this. We limit the number of people for a reason: our systems (septic, hot water) cannot accommodate large numbers of people. Please note that if you have more than 6 people you will be charged $100 per extra person, per day OR you will be asked to leave without a refund for the remaining days. Unfortunately we have had multiple guests who have abused this rule and it has caused problems for our systems. Matthews Lake is located in Washburn County. It is a 267 acre lake with a maximum depth of 26 feet. There is a public boat landing. Largemouth Bass & Panfish are abundant. Approximately 110 feet of sandy shoreline. Lake Home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Sleeps 8 to 10 on 3 levels. Internet service is set up. There is central air for those hot, humid nights. Matthews Lake is located in a quiet area about 1/2 way between Danbury and Hayward. Knotty pine ceilings and walls throughout. Main floor layout includes 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen/living area, Foosball table, flat screen TV, and wood burning fireplace. Finished walk-out basement with lots of light and windows - layout includes bedroom, an additional queen-sized bed, futon, laundry room, bathroom, and an Olympic quality ping pong table. There is a great fire pit and volleyball court outside. There is a no-wake rule before 10 am and after 5 pm, which means it's pretty quiet on the lake during those times. This A-frame cabin provides amazing views of the Minong Flowage lake, especially at sunset. With dock access to the lake you have all you need to enjoy multiple days in the area. The master suite is large & provides a private space to retreat at the end of the night. In the loft, you can fit up to 6 people on actual beds with room for 1 air mattress. The outdoor deck spans the entire house with a convenient gate to keep all young ones safe. Open the gate and you are just steps from the water with a sand bottom. When the cabin is not rented we do personally use the space so you will find some of our items here. We also have two pups that hang out with us here. They are never allowed in the loft but do spend time in all of the main level areas. The house is thoroughly cleaned but if you have severe allergies this unfortunately may not be the cabin for you. The Flowage includes a sand island accessible by boat rental, which provides a family-fun, memorable experience where kids will get “lost” in the many adventures. Cost is $175 for the duration of your stay (up to 1 week). First tank of gas included (most guest never need additional gas). A one person kayak is available for $40 for the duration of your stay (up to 2 weeks). A 4 person paddle boat for $75 for the duration of your stay (up to 2 weeks). Payment due upon arrival.

Blackberry Briar Cottage is located on County Road T between the Minong Flowage and Cranberry Lake. Our loft bedroom has a full bed, master has a queen, and walkout basement bedrooms each have twin over full bunks. 2 full baths, one with soaking tub. All linens and towels provided. The main and lower levels each have a family room, one with a gas fireplace. Deck on back side of cottage has outdoor dining table and grill. Fire pit is also in backyard with wood provided. Water access to Cranberry Lake is just across the road, down a path you will find a canoe next to the dock. Life jackets and paddles are on premises. A convenience store with laundromat, gas, groceries, movies, hardware and licenses available is just a couple miles down the road. Many restaurants are also nearby.

Buffalo Lake is a private lake, perfect for fishing, wildlife and small boating activities. The Main Lodge accommodates 8-10 guests, has a full kitchen, living room with satellite t.v., VCR/DVD and phone, two full bathrooms, screened porch and deck. One set of linens and towels. There are two boats available to use when you rent the lodge. No large boats with motors, jet skis or fish finding gear are allowed on Buffalo Lake.

This private setting gives you access to the Minong Flowage, a serene, intermediate channel between the Minong and Cranberry Lakes. In the morning, you will enjoy having your coffee and taking in the freshwater and woodland scenery while sitting on the 10x12 deck located on the water. The property is private and gives you the peace you are looking for. Inside the cabin are 3 spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, full kitchen with a breakfast bar, dining area, and a game and recreational area. There is one futon along with a blow up bed if needed, allowing up to 10 people to stay. One of the highlights of this cabin is the screened-in porch, where you have the opportunity to eat outside and enjoy the complete surroundings. You will find yourself sitting in the porch, enjoying your time with your company or just spending your own quiet time. This is a non-smoking cabin and we do not allow pets. If you are looking to snowmobile or use your ATV's, we are located just off the trails. (No need to trailer your machine anywhere.) You will have access to the full trail system where you can enjoy hundreds of miles of trails. The Minong Flowage is considered one of the most pristine water ways in northern WI for fishing, swimming or skiing. You can watch loons, bald eagles and deer as you enjoy this part of the state. There are private individuals in the area who rent pontoons on the lake for those without a boat and the desire to experience the entire lakes. You will have access to our 2 kayaks and canoe to allow you to get on the water. Our property manager lives next door so if you have questions or something needs to be addressed, it can be resolved quickly. Around the area there are several restaurants/bars on the lake for you to enjoy. There is also a convenient store (with laundry) located within 1.5 miles from our home. The city of Minong has a grocery store, marine dealer and restaurants.
